Housing Lawyer
£45,568 – £50,764 | Remote working | Annualised hours
As Housing Lawyer you will enjoy real autonomy, with the opportunity to design and implement new ways of working. You will be Councils expert for housing law, advising on everything from tenancies and evictions to affordable housing projects and landlord responsibilities.
-
Sole Legal Lead on Housing - You’ll be the councils’ only dedicated housing lawyer, providing direct legal advice to the housing team and leading on all housing-related matters. You won’t just advise - you’ll shape how housing law is delivered across two progressive local authorities.
Fully Remote Option - All hearings are conducted remotely, and there’s no need to attend the office unless you want to. Of course, Abbey House in Abingdon is your official base - but the focus is entirely on outcomes, not office presence.
True Autonomy - This role comes with significant independence. You’ll have the scope to set up your own systems, draft new procedures, and embed legal best practice into day-to-day housing operations.
Strategic & Varied Work - From litigation and tenancy disputes to advice on affordable housing schemes and lease negotiations - you’ll cover a broad legal landscape and have the chance to influence wider policy and service delivery.
